Handful of Sewer South II easements remain

Before the long desired vision of sewer pipe in the ground along I-85 in Oconee, there’s the matter of obtaining a remaining number of easements from property owners whose cooperation is needed for Sewer South II.  Seven easements belonging to individuals or groups, according to Chris Eleazer of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority, are either in the appraisal or negotiation stage.  In at least two of the situations, the property owners are represented by attorneys with whom Larry Brandt, the JRSA attorney, will confer.  A question arose yesterday as to how to run sewer pipe along I-85 bridges over Lake Hartwell.  In reply to a committee member’s question, Eleazer says he’s certain that the South Carolina DOT won’t allow pipe to be attached to the sides of the bridge.
