Hamilton Career Center 50th year

Everyone is invited to a drop-in next month to celebrate 50 years for the Hamilton Career Center in the Bountyland Community. The career center was built in 1968 and opened as the Oconee Vocational Center. In a half century, students on their way to the local workforce have studied and trained there to prepare for the local workforce. The Hamilton Career Center today houses 12 different career and technical programs and serves about one thousand students annually. Former and current students, faculty, staff, administrators are all invited for a drop-in and tour from 12:30 to 4 pm Friday, February 15. Oconee School District is now in the start of the construction of a new career center, being built in the Information and Technology Park on n. highway 11.
