Guy Leon Towe

West Union, SC– Guy Leon Towe, 85, husband of the late Dorothy Nichols Towe, of West Union, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 7, 2023 with his devoted son by his side, at Cottingham Hospice House. Mr. Towe was the last surviving member of his family.

A native of Oconee County, SC, Mr. Towe was the son of the late Elijah Jackson Towe and Clara

Rochester Towe. He was retired from Blankenship Electrical.

Affectionately known to most as “Papa Guy” or “Pop” he was loved by all who knew him. His life

spoke volumes of his love for the Lord. He exemplified what a true Christian should look like.

His love for people has touched many. He wanted everyone he met to know and experience this

same God.

We know the minute he stepped into heaven God gave him a big bear hug and said “thank you, my

good and faithful servant, come and see all that are here because of your witness”.

His legacy will live on in all of us who were privileged to know him. He will be remembered for his

gentle spirit, passion for witnessing, and his corny jokes!

He is survived by his son, Gerald Towe (Karen) and his grandson, Justin whom he loved so much.

In addition to his wife and parents he is preceded in death by his infant daughter; sisters: Christine

Lusk and Betty Wyatt; brothers: Seaborn Towe, Walter Towe, Wallace Towe, Jack Towe, Frank Towe,

and Johnny Towe.

A visitation will be held at 2:00pm, one hour prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the Cottingham Hospice House for their compassion in caring for this
