Gunfire between deputies and man near Easley

A man wounded by gunfire yesterday near Easley was sent to the hospital.  He was wounded in what the state police say was an incident involving him and Anderson County sheriff’s deputies.  Announcement by “SLED” indicates shots were exchanged between officers and an armed man as the deputies attempted a welfare check following a domestic dispute.  At the request of the law enforcement agency involved, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division investigates officer-involved shootings with the goal to do a thorough, independent criminal investigation as is possible.  State investigators summarize the information and send a case file report to prosecutors.  This was the 16th officers involved shooting this year in South Carolina.
