Gun-control advocate’s nomination to be recalled

In the face of bi-partisan opposition in Washington, the White House will withdraw the nomination of David Chipman to lead the ATF, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.  Although a long-time ATF worker, Chipman’s position as a gun-control advocate has sunk his chances to head the agency.  South Carolina’s 3rd District representative, Jeff Duncan, says it’s a development worth celebrating.  A strong gun-rights supporter, Duncan said, “Because of Chipman’s proven disregard of the Second Amendment and the rights of American citizens to bear arms, he would have been a threat to gun owners across the country….”
