Grants writer to tour Seneca’s Kellett property

Seneca seeks help today in eventually deciding the future for a large piece of piece of property south of the railroad tracks. Scott Moulder, city administrator, will lead Arlene Young of the South Carolina Appalachian Council of Governments on a tour of the Kellett building and property. Young is a grants writer for the government service agency based at Greenville. For years, the building and property housed an elementary school, but was transferred by the school district to the city. A number of uses for the property—such as a utilities complex and an assisted living facility—have met opposition from neighborhood residents, some of whom would like to see the city convert the property to a park.
