Graham’s campaign fundraising was unprecedented

In his winning bid for a new term, Senator Lindsey Graham’s campaign raised more than $109 million, which the campaign states was more than any incumbent senator in history.  Not all of the money was expended to help persuade voters to make the Oconee Republican the choice over his Democratic opponent, Jamie Harrison.  According to the Graham campaign, $6.6 million has been transferred to the South Carolina Republican Party and the National Republican Senatorial Committee to help other Republican candidates.  Now that Graham is set for a new, six-year term, the senator says he’s doing all he can to help Georgia Republicans Perdue and Loeffler to win in that state’s runoffs next month.  Graham said, “Republican control of the U-S Senate is critical to preventing our country from going down a path toward socialism….”
