Graham worries way being paved for a second 9-11

Nearly all U-S troops have been withdrawn from Afghanistan, as the U-S ends its longest war.  However, South Carolina’s senior U-S senator is worried that the deck is being cleared for a possible second 9-11.  In remarks released yesterday after his Easley speaking engagement, Lindsey Graham said, “I fear that al Qaeda and ISIS will reemerge and we’ll be paving the way for another 9/11.  This can be avoided”, he said, “if America stays involved with the Afghan Air Force, which gives it an edge over the Taliban.”  The Pentagon press secretary yesterday defended the military’s recent pullout from Bagram, which caused local Afghan commanders to express surprise and led to a security lapse that allowed looters onto the base.
