Grading the education chief

The employers of Oconee’s education chief are about to conduct their annual evaluation of how well he’s doing his job. Andy Inabinet, chairman of the Oconee school trustees, said this morning the trustees are anticipating no problems during Dr. Michael Thorsland’s evaluation which could formally get underway a week from tonight. Typically, the board of trustees will rate their superintendent on eight separate performance indicators. Last year Thorsland rated exemplary or proficient and he wound up receiving a 3% pay raise and with another year on his contract.
