Governor lifts further restrictions

Governor McMaster late this afternoon announced that, effective Monday, May 18, South Carolina will lift restrictions further and allow businesses involved in close contact with customers will be allowed to go back into operations. The lifting also applies to certain recreation and athletic facilities. The close contact businesses that will be allowed to return next week include barbers, hair salons, nail salons, tattoo parlors, massage parlors. The recreation and athletic offerings will include fitness centers, gyms. Spas, public swimming pools, and yoga services. And the governor says the state will welcome back to its offices a number of state workers who were considered non-essential and have been working the last several weeks from their homes.
