Gladys Cobb

  Gladys Virginia Rholetter Cobb, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on, Friday, June 23rd, 2023.

 

Born in Brasstown, South Carolina, Gladys was the daughter of the late Gus Clarenton and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Rholetter. Glady’s was retired from the Torrington Co. in Walhalla, and was a member of Earles Grove Baptist Church.  She had a great passion for the Lord and her Church and enjoyed reading God’s word. She loved her family dearly and always loved cooking for them, she would do everything she could to meet any need her family may have had.   

  

Gladys is survived by her daughter and only child, Teresa Johnson and husband, Terry; grandsons, Matthew Traynham (Helen), Billy Traynham (Chrissie); and step-grandson, Terence “TJ” Johnson; great grandsons, James Traynham and Jesse Traynham; step-great grandson, Tanner Barnes; step great-granddaughter, Ava Barnes; and a brother, Jack Rholetter.

 

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, and her infant great grandchildren, Madison and Hayden Traynham; brothers, Gus Rholetter Jr., Howard Rholetter, Curtis Rholetter; and sisters, Eleanor Rholetter and Mary Bramlett.

 

A funeral service will be held, 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June, 27th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 27th, 2023, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
