Gilbert Clayton “Gil” Misner

Seneca, SC – Gilbert Clayton “Gil” Misner, 83, husband of the late Lorraine Joyce Hilbert Misner, of 306 North Summit Drive, Seneca, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

 

A native of Flint, MI, Mr. Misner was the son of the late Elmer and Lela Shepard Misner. He retired as a Counselor from Grand Blanc High School. He enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting and directed music in his churches throughout his life. Mr. Misner was a member of University Baptist Church in Clemson, SC.

 

Mr. Gilbert is survived by his daughter: Lisa Ann Weaver (Jonathan) of Myerstown, PA; grandchildren: Seth Weaver (Sarah Ruth), Sarah Janel Little (Jacob), Stephen Weaver, Rebekah Weaver and Rachel Weaver Ebling (Isaac); and great-grandchildren: Lydia Faith Weaver and Luke Thomas Weaver.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Misner was preceded in death by his daughter: Denise Jill.

 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 13, 2020, at University Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Bob Jones University, “In Memory of Gilbert Clayton Misner”, and designated to the Denise J. Misner Scholarship Fund, Attn: Advancement Office, 1700 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville, SC 29614.

 

The family is at their respective homes.
