Georgia Bulldog tragedy felt directly in Toccoa

An early Sunday morning car accident killed a 20-year old Georgia Bulldog football player and a football staff member who came from Toccoa.  Offensive lineman Devin Willock lost his life in a 2:45 am accident, according to the Athens-Clark police. Willock was a passenger in a 2021 Ford Expedition that crashed on the Barnett Shoals Road.  Killed also was the driver, Chandler LeCroy, a team staff member and Toccoa resident.  Two other members of the football program were hurt but reported stable.  At the time of this report, their names had not been publicly released.  The car hit two power poles and several trees.  The University of Georgia Athletic Association statement reads, in part,  “Devin and Chandler were two special people who meant so much to the University of Georgia, our football program and our athletic department.  We ask that you keep their families in your prayers during this very difficult time.”
