George Berry Moore

Walhalla, SC – George Berry Moore, 83, husband of the late Betty Jo Pettit Baumgarner Moore, of 834 W. Bear Swamp Road, Walhalla, SC, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022 at his residence.

 

A native of Pickens County, SC, Mr. Moore was the son of the late Frank Crosby Moore and Leona Adams Moore Brandt. He retired from Duke Power where he worked in the Maintenance Department. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Moore was a member of College Street Baptist Church as well as the Blue Ridge Masonic Lodge #92.

 

Mr. Moore is survived by a stepson Rick Baumgarner (Carol Jo); stepdaughters: Renee Brown (Ken): Jane Bunch (Jeff); brother: Stanley Moore; sisters: Lucy Brandt, Ruby Roach, and Ellen Adams; grandchildren: Taylor Baumgarner, Reagan Baumgarner (Addison), Kirby Brown, Jake Brown (Elizabeth), Griffin Bunch, and Emma Bunch.

 

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his brothers: Noah Moore and Mack Moore; and sister: Genie Moore.

 

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Monday, July 11, 2022, at Heritage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Military Honors.

 

The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM-3:30 PM, Monday, July 11, 2022, prior to the graveside service, at Davenport Funeral Home.

 

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church of Easley, 300 East 1^st Ave. Easley, SC, 29640.
