Gas prices rise overnight

Motorists across the Carolinas woke up to slightly higher prices at the pump. The drone attacks on Saudi Arabia oil facilities lead to volatility at the gas pumps, but the motor club AAA says it’s still too early to know the full impact on prices in the Carolinas.  Tiffany Wright, AAA spokesperson, says, “As we expected, prices are on the rise due to the major facility shutdowns in Saudi Arabia.  This trend will likely continue, but whether this increase will be short or long-term will be determined by how quickly the facilities can recover and get back online.”  Damage to the facilities is being assessed.  President Trump has authorized the release of crude from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.  Before the attacks, global crude supply was considered very healthy.  A global glut of stocks, in fact.
