Gary Wayne Sexton
Seneca– Gary Wayne Sexton, 71, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at his home.
A native of Johnson City, TN, Gary was the son of the late Harley J. and Jennie Elizabeth Maine Sexton. Gary was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Gary retired from Phillips Fibers, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Gary is survived by his son; Michael Ray Phillips (Maria) of Orlando, FL; daughters, Stacy Michelle Sexton of West Union, SC and Rebecca Lynn Nevin of Orlando, Fl; brothers; Randy Carl Sexton (Lynn) of Seneca, Larry Lee Sexton of Seneca, SC; sister Peggy Jean Carroll of Westminster, SC; grandchildren, Kimberly Capps (Timmy), Victoria Tabino (Cory), Ashley Phillips, Bradley Phillips, Sean Phillips and Joshua Phillips; great-grandchildren, Melodyanne Capps, JoyHannah Capps and Alleighe Capps; nephews, Marty Sexton and Jamie Sexton; and sister-in-law, Linda Sexton of Westminster.
In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his brother, Harley “Buddy” Sexton.
A funeral service with will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at First Baptist Memorial Park with full Military Honors. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm prior to the service at Sandifer Funeral Home, Sunday, January 23rd, 2022.
