Garbage truck mishaps

An accident involving a Seneca sanitation truck this morning on the 123 By-Pass resulted in no injuries and “minimal damage” to the truck, according to Scott Moulder, city administrator.  The accident was investigated by the state patrol, and Moulder says the patrol did not issue any citations in its investigation.  Oconee Solid Waste this morning was still awaiting an estimate of the fire damage last Thursday morning to one of its trucks on the grounds of the Keowee Elementary School.  By lucky chance, the truck was manned by a fire fighter, and he ran to the nearby fire department for  a truck so he could put out the fire himself.  There were no injuries reported in the accident, and the elementary school and its students were not in any danger, according to Steve Hanvey of the Oconee School District.
