Future teachers learn how to react in shooting scenarios

Students in the Clemson College of Education are being trained how to react to active shooting situations. Leigh Martin of the College of Education says as the result of one of the partnerships with local and area districts, an assistant superintendent made a presentation in a seminar to future teachers by teaching what’s known as ALICE—Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate. Clemson decided to implement the training after conversations with the Anderson District Four superintendent about the Townville school shooting.
