From the pulpit, a plea for continued patience

If I-85 as it runs through Oconee County is ever to see the kinds of development that’ll offer economic benefits to Fair Play community, piped sewer at the interstate exits is considered a pre-requisite.  The coming of sewer has been talked decades, and last night the executive director of Oconee’s Joint Regional Sewer Authority pleaded with an audience at the community meeting for “continued patience.”  Chris Eleazer detailed the obstacles and challenges, some of which are financial, that the Seneca-based sewer authority faces in running pipe down SC 59, eventually reaching the interstate highway exits. One of the questions from the audience last night that Eleazer had trouble answering completely is how soon Fair Play residents who live along the sewer route can expect to tap on for service.
