A stolen transmission, valued around $4 thousand, is a case under active investigation this week at the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.  The transmission was taken from the back of a pickup truck early Wednesday afternoon near Seneca.  Investigators request the public’s help to provide any relevant information, especially if they saw theft in progress.  The victim of the crime says several people got out of a white car on Market Street at Dogwood Plaza took the transmission and put it in the back of their vehicle and left.  It appears the theft occurred around 11:45 am.  The sheriff’s office is trying to identify a person in a grey hoodie and tan cargo pants. If you were on or near Market Street off 123 around 11:45 Wednesday morning—or the Oconee hospital around 12:10 pm Wednesday and saw an older model white Buick or Lincoln, or can identify the vehicle or subject, call the sheriff’s office or Crimestoppers.  You can also leave a tip through the free P3 app or at www.oconeecrimestoppers.com.
