Friday altercation referred to the state police

The case file of a Seneca police investigation from Friday will be sent to the state police for their review, according to an announcement by Casey Bowling, city police chief.  The city police were called Friday afternoon to the scene of what Bowling says was an altercation on S. Fairplay Street.  No charges were made and no one was hurt; because of the presence of Lakesha Benson, a city councilwoman-elect, Bowling wants the state Law Enforcement Division to review the matter.  The chief described the nature of the altercation as a dispute over custody and said it started inside a S. Fairplay home and spread to the outside. Bowling says six people were involved in the incident and, as part of their investigation, the police seized a gun.
