Four can marry you at the Probate Judge’s office

At the office of the Oconee County probate judge, four people are qualified to marry couples. They are Judge Kenny Johns, Associate Judge Karen Lee, and two other office workers. Over the decades, couples have traveled from near and far to tie the knot in Walhalla. In South Carolina, however, you can also be married by a member of the clergy or any notary public. Judge Johns sat down with 101.7/WGOG to answer many of the questions about how you get married in South Carolina and whether a couple must live in South Carolina to be married in South Carolina. Those questions and more will be answered during this Sunday’s ‘Community Soundoff’ to air on 101.7/WGOG during the Sunday noon hour.
