Former Texan regrets move back to Oconee–her words

A 40-year old woman admitted in court admitted that she helped a co-defendant push a body to the side of the road, but denied she had any part in dumping the body down an embankment.  Samantha Denise Larson pleaded guilty this afternoon in the Oconee General Sessions Court to accessory after the fact of murder.  According to Deputy Solicitor Jason Alderman, Larson was not the principal felon in the case but she helped dispose of the body of 71-year old Wayne Wilson and kept quiet about what she knew. Larson and co-defendant Steven Cecil Wilson were arrested by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office December 21 after the body of Wilson’s brother, James, was found in a state of decomposition in one of the more remote parts of northern Oconee County, the Wigington Road near highway 107.  In Larson’s case, Judge Maddox had the option of meting out a sentence anywhere from probation to 15 years in prison.  But Larson pleaded that she feared retribution from her co-defendant after he warned her not to speak.  Larson’s lawyer said his client’s previous brushes with the law were all minor charges.  Judge Maddox chose a probationary sentence and said he would allow Larson to transfer her five-year probation sentence to Texas, where she would hope to resume raising a daughter, provided Texas authorities were agreeable to the ankle monitoring part of her sentence.
