For now, no bond for murder defendant

For at least the next 180 days, by order of the judge, there will be no bond set for Keena Brown, accused of shooting a man dead this summer in Seneca.  Judge Maddox today said no to the motion of Brown’s lawyer for bond.  Brown is charged with murder and the possession of a weapon during a violent in the death of Ricky Nickles Jr. July 6 at a Seneca apartment complex.  Policeman Casey Bowling opposed bond, saying investigation shows that Nickles was shot seven times and, at the time, was in the company of his children and the mother’s children.  The parents of the deceased also opposed bond, saying the defendant is a flight risk and there’s fear he might do harm to the mother and the children.
