Football player charged in accident investigation

A Clemson football player faces the charge of misdemeanor reckless driving for exceeding the speed limit that allegedly led to an accident that injured a postal worker.  The Clemson city police yesterday announced the arrest of Fred Davis II, a cornerback, in their investigation of an accident July 21 on U-S 123.  The police chief, Jorge Campos, told city officials the severely mail carrier is lucky to be alive.
