Flurry of candidates on Day 1

Several Oconeeans were anxious to stake their claim to the elected offices they hold and, on the first day of candidate qualifying, they signed up for this year’s Republican primary scheduled for June.  They are all Republicans and include Mike Crenshaw for Sheriff; Thomas Alexander for State Senate, Bill Whitmire for House Districct One; Bill Sandifer for House District Two; Julian Davis for County Council Four; Christy Hubbard for Auditor, and Greg Nowell for Treasurer.  There are two newcomers so far:  Josh Roberts for Seat Two, County Council and Lee Richardson will challenge for Seat Five, County Council. David Wagner is running again for Solicitor from Oconee-Anderson.  The qualifying will continue for two weeks.
