Fleeing vehicle crashed into home, one killed

A late night motor vehicle crash between Seneca and Clemson took the life of a 39-year old woman who was inside the home into which a fleeing vehicle crashed. Coroner Karl Addis said Vanessa Leanne Neimeyer was dead at the scene when the vehicle crashed into 10695 Clemson Boulevard and landed on top of her in the basement of the home. The accident was reported at 11:37 pm. Neimeyer lived there with her mother and grandparents. Addis says the highway patrol had set up a license check at nearby Wells Highway and Owens Road. “A vehicle traveling east on Wells Highway approached the checkpoint and did not stop; the SC Highway Patrol pursued the vehicle,” according to the coroner’s announcement. The vehicle driver was not identified in the report. The crash is being investigated by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, with help from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. An autopsy will take place.
