Flash Flood warning

National Weather Service has placed Oconee County under a flash flood warning until 11:30 this morning.  So far, there has been a small amount of flooding, but nothing major.  That’s the report from the folks who man the overnight emergency controls.  Our forecasts show we’ll not be out of this heavy rain event until at least tomorrow morning.  There’s the possibility of at least three more inches of rain to add to what we’ve already felt.  Detour signs have gone up at the flood-prone Walhalla intersection of S. College and Broad streets–one block from Main.
