Five new virus cases at four Oconee schools

Five new cases of COVID-19 have been added to the virus tracking page kept by the Oconee School District.  The following cases were confirmed yesterday:  one student at Walhalla High; and one employee each at Walhalla High, West-Oak Middle School, Seneca Middle, and Walhalla’s James Brown Elementary.  Through November 12, the district counted a total of 140 cases.  The breakdown:  92 students and 48 employees.  According to a statement from the district spokeswoman, “There is not a way for us to say with certainty how a student or an employee is exposed to the virus.  We continue to follow all protocols concerning social distancing, mask wearing and cleaning.”
