Six hopefuls (Biden included) address Oconee meeting

Oconee Democrats who tuned to a virtual meeting heard pitches from six candidates, including their presumptive nominee for President, in November.  The Saturday meeting served as the local party’s annual fundraiser and Joe Biden’s appearance came in a recorded video.  Besides Biden, five other November candidates spoke:  Jaime Harrison for the U-S Senate; Hosea Cleveland for U-S House of Representatives 3rd District; Earnestine Williams, District Five, Oconee School Board; Eunice Lehmacher, District Three, State House of Representatives, and Mike Crenshaw for Oconee Sheriff. Crenshaw is a Republican nominee, but Oconee Democratic Chairwoman Jody Gaulin says she wasn’t surprised by Crenshaw’s willingness to speak to Democrats.  Local Democrats are county residents who, like Republicans, need law enforcement.  Gaulin said this about Crenshaw:  “I know he is a Republican, but he is doing a great job, reaching out to everybody in the community because he feel like he serves all….”
