Fire on the mountain is underway

Plumes of smoke can be seen a couple miles south of Walhalla–a sign that the Forest Service prescribed burn at Buzzard’s Mountain is well underway.  And, as forecast, today’s calm winds are drifting the smoke in a northeasterly direction toward the Salem area.
