Fire damages Walhalla home

A late night fire Friday damaged a home on Walhalla’s Bulwinkle Drive.  Chief Brandon Burton of the Walhalla Fire Department says minor fire damage resulted to the lower portion of the split-level house.  Heat and smoke damage filled other parts of the home.  Fire fighters were alerted to the fire at 10:35 pm.  No one was hurt but, as a precaution, medical personnel checked out the home occupants.  A cat was rescued and treated at the scene. The circumstances of why the fire started are being investigated, although Burton says the cause of the fire is not suspicious.
