Finally, Seneca ’70 class to have 50th reunion

A festive occasion will greet the members of the 1970 class of Seneca High School when they finally gather this summer for their 50th reunion.  The world pandemic blocked the class from holding its 50th on time last year, but it’s a go this summer.  Bridgett Hilley says the date will be Saturday, August 14 and the location the Lighthouse Restaurant on Lake Keowee. Many in the graduating class of 178 have already paid their reservation fee.  But other class members who are interested may contact Hilley at 864-710-7872.  The fact that the 1969-70 year was the first for integrated Oconee schools is believed to have generated the largest number of Seneca graduates in that time in any one year prior.  The program and dinner will start at 5 o’clock in the evening, but all graduates are urged to enjoy a two-hour mixer, from 3 to 5 o’clock, that Doug Rothell is putting together with special hor d’oeruvres.
