Final season game for African-American youth baseball

First pitch this evening for the final game of the season for African-American youth baseball in the Upstate will be 5:30 at Greenville’s Timmons Park at 121 Oxford Street.  The program to interest inner-city youth from across the Upstate in America’s national past time is considered to have been a success this summer, and program facilitator Calvin Ivery is hopeful the program can be brought back next year.  Forty-eight youngsters participated.  The baseball-watching public is invited for the game, as well as a cookout with the parents.
