Georgia law enforcement authorities arrested two people after a Tuesday afternoon chase that started with a traffic stop attempt on the Toccoa Bypass near highway 145. The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office identified 30-year-old Cleveland, Georgia resident, Brandon Richard Nash, as a federal parolee who now faces the following new charges: trafficking in methamphetamine, aggravated assault on law enforcement, attempted removal of a weapon from an officer, and obstructing or hindering law enforcement. A passenger in the Ford Fusion, Melissa Grizzle, was charged with trafficking in meth. Later in the day, after a deputy during a foot chase lost sight of the suspect driver, Sheriff Randy Shirley said, a member of the public alerted officers to a male subject at a home at the end of Pine Villa Drive, and that’s where the suspect was taken into custody.
