Fatal accident scene problematic to drivers for years

The folks who work at Lowe’s Electric just below the Poplar Springs bridge have known for many years about traffic accidents, some of them fatal, that have taken place on SC 28/the Blue Ridge Boulevard, at the West Union Road juncture.  There was another one shortly before 9 this morning, and it took the life of a 28-year old West Union woman and injured others.  The coroner says he will disclose the name of the fatality this afternoon.  Officials told 101.7/WGOG NEWS the accident involved three vehicles—a car, a van, and a small truck.  The wreckage and some of the debris left on the highway forced Walhalla-bound traffic on 28 to detour onto the West Union Road.
