Fans wanded on their way into Pickens at Walhalla game

Hand held metal detectors were employed by Oconee sheriff’s personnel during a two-hour period leading up to last week’s Pickens at Walhalla game. Sheriff Crenshaw says about 2,100 people were scanned, as a security measure between the hours of 6 and 8, the kickoff time. Crenshaw says, “I attended the game and we received positive feedback from those attending the game in regards to the additional layer of security….” The Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to use the technology going forward at other events.
