Fairgrounds worker injured

A worker at the Foothills Heritage Fairgrounds required hospital treatment yesterday when he was shocked as he reached inside an electrical panel box. Oconee Emergency Services identified the worker as an employee of the amusement ride company and said he was thrown back a few feet once the shock set in. Charlie King of Oconee Emergency Services said the man was alert and conscious as he was sent to the hospital. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon just as the fair was beginning its one-week run on 123 near Westminster. For safety reasons, King said, the county required the replacement of the panel box.
