Entrepreneurs gather for special visitor

Entrepreneurs behind new businesses in the Walhalla Brown Square building used as an incubator for start-ups gathered around a table for yesterday’s visit from a representative of the Ewing Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri. In some circles, Ewing Kauffman is a name associated with major Kansas City sports teams, but his foundation focuses on helping communities overcome uncommon obstacles to allow entrepreneurs to succeed. The Oconee Business Center, home to a handful of start-up businesses, seemed to fit with what Andy Stoll does at the Kauffman Foundation. The foundation strives to help start-up businesses overcome obstacles in the way of success. And that’s partly why Oconee County’s Dave Eldridge was excited yesterday in anticipation of Stoll’s visit.
