Emily Irene Chappell

Emily Irene Chappell, 64, loving wife of 47 years to Jimmie Ray Chappell, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital.

 

A native of Oconee County, South Carolina Emily was born May 4, 1958, the daughter of the late Ernest Rogers and Irene James Tannery. Emily was instilled with a strong sense of love and family. She truly made the world a better place one person at a time, and her legacy of love and kindness lives on in those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

 

Survivors include her husband, Jimmie Ray Chappell of the home; her children, Priscilla Lanning (Kevin) of Seneca, Jimmie Chappell, Jr. (Renee Bates) of Seneca, and Angel Chappell (Christopher Tarpey) of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Zack and Zoe Lanning of Seneca; siblings, Helen Honea (Roger) of Westminster, Wesley Rogers of Westminster, Shirley Towe of Seneca, Arnold Rogers of Westminster, and Kitty Rogers of Greenville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chappell was predeceased by her brothers, Mike Rogers, Steve Rogers, Jimmy Rogers, and Robert Rogers; and her sister, Carolyn Rogers.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home in Seneca with funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place following the service in Mt. Carmel #1 Baptist Church Cemetery, 596 Lake Jocassee Rd, Salem, SC 29676.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Emily’s honor may be made to Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Rd, Seneca, SC 29672.
