Edward Bowen

Oakway– Edward Eubanks Bowen, 62, passed away on Saturday, June 10^th, 2023 at Iva Post-Acute.

 

A native of Oconee County, Edward was the son of the late Dewey Ryal Bowen and Lula Bess Keese Bowen. Edward was a heavy equipment operator and a farmer. He was a member of the South Carolina Cattleman Association and the Oconee Cattleman Association and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and attended Foothills Church. He had a great passion for the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known as a great chef when it came to barbecuing.

 

Edward is survived by his son, Adger James “AJ” Bowen of Maine and his mother, Tara Lord; siblings, Peggy Bowen Moore and her husband Don of Oakway, Dewey Keese Bowen of Seneca, John Ryal Bowen and his late wife Linda of Oakway, and Mahala Bowen Moore and her husband Dennis of Colbert, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews.  

 

Edward is preceded in death by his parents.

 

A Family and Friends gathering will be held 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 14^th, 2023 at Sandifer Funeral Home.
