Edward B. Kibbe

Edward B. Kibbe, known to friends and family simply as “Ed”, age 85, of Clemson, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, South Carolina. Born in Ilion, New York, on March 25, 1937, he was the loving husband to Joanne Marie Kibbe for 61 and a half years and the son of the late Drew and Alice Kibbe.

During his youth Ed was a student-athlete and played the lead role in many of the high school’s musical productions. Upon graduating, Mr. Kibbe enlisted and served our nation gallantly in the United States Air Force.

After his service in the armed forces, Ed enrolled in college courses to further his career with the Mobil Oil Company and the Florida Department of Transportation. While at the Department of Transportation, Mr. Kibbe was recognized with several awards and received a military honor from then-Governor Rick Scott.

In his spare time, Ed was an avid golfer and served as ambassador at the Arnold Palmer Golf Course. He also had an interest and passion for weather that began with his work as a weatherman in the service and continued throughout his life.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Kibbe is survived by children; Cynthia (Victor) Mackewicz of Califon, New Jersey, Ronald Edward (Catherine) Kibbe of Alpharetta, Georgia, grandchildren; Phillip & Jason Mackewicz, Ryan & Alexis Kibbe, siblings; Tom and Leona Kibbe.

Edward is predeceased by his brother, Thomas Kibbe, of New Hampshire.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Kibbe’s name to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.

A mass will be held Monday, November 7, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca, South Carolina. Interment will follow at 2:00 P.M. at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, South Carolina.
