Edna “Louise” Burton Carter

 

Westminster – Edna “Louise” Burton Carter, 74, wife of Charles Ray Carter, passed away Friday, December 11th, 2020 at Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

 

Louise was born in Seneca, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late James W. and Sallie Blackwell Burton.  Louise was retired from Becton Dickinson where she was a quality control inspector. She was an active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where she was a beloved Sunday School teacher, choir member, on the bereavement committee, and was ready with a smile to do anything else that needed to be done to serve the Lord. Louise was a very skilled seamstress and who loved knitting. Louise’s family was her most prized achievement and she was honored to be active in their lives and was a wonderful role model.

 

Louise is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Ray Carter of 50 years; children, Kevin Carter and wife Tori, Lisa Camden, Keith Carter and wife Carolyn; ten grandchildren, Dylan Glenn, Ashley Meredith, Casey Carter, Emily Camden, Chelsea Camden, Chandler Miles, Courtney Carter, Charleigh Carter, Mackenzie Sears and Gracie Carter; three great grandchildren, Aubrey Glenn, Kinsley Glenn, and Nathan Carter; brother, Larry Burton and wife Margie; a sister, Ruth Ann Holbrooks and husband Bobby; and multiple nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children.

 

In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by an infant brother, Jimmy Burton.

 

A funeral service will be held 3 pm, Sunday, December 13th, 2020 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with a burial to follow at the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2:00 pm – 3:00pm, Sunday, December 13th, 2020 prior to the service at Holly Springs Baptist Church.
