Early filings in three municipal races

Some two hours into candidate qualifying for Oconee County municipal elections there was activity for the office of mayor in two towns.  Linda Oliver signed up to run for a new term as West Union mayor.  Two men officially jumped into the contest for Walhalla mayor–Councilman Dennis Owens and the incumbent, Danny Edwards.  101.7/WGOG NEWS has received an announcement that five women are going to run for offices in the city of Westminster.  They are Councilwoman Susan Ramey to run for mayor.  The other four intend to seek three available council seats.  They are Andrea Harbin, Wendy Golten, Victoria Roach, and Theresa Olaes Noe.  Their announcement is titled, “5 Women, 1 Platform, United Vision for Change….” Moments ago, Walhalla resident Keith Pace announced that he will run November 5 for a seat on the city council.
