Dust will be unavoidable by-product of implosion

“As safety and and preparations permit”, the venerable Clemson House will be no more in just a matter of seconds this weekend.  The Clemson House implosion, to help make way for a new business school, is planned at 8:30 Sunday morning.  And last night Clemson University invited the public for a community meeting to explain what demolition by implosion is about, and why it’s necessary for those inside the exclusion zone to stay indoors to ensure they are not exposed to noise levels above OSHA regulations.  Clemson University’s Tommi Jones says the best thing to do is to stay inside and watch what happens thru a university computer link.  Those within the exclusion zone are requested to keep doors, windows and air takes shut from 8 to 9:30 am Sunday.  Neuber Envrionmental Services will start cleaning the streets and sidewalks once an “all clear” signal is given by CDI–Controlled Demolition Incorporated.
