Duncan decries “reckless spending bills”

The 3rd District U-S representative, Jeff Duncan of Laurens, registered no votes to new spending bills that he calls reckless.  The bills would spend $1.4 trillion dollars and cover 2,300 pages. Critics, like Duncan, say the bills are full of provisions sought by lobbyists and interest groups.  An AP report states, if passed, the bills would head off a government shutdown this weekend and give President Trump funding for his border fence.  In a statement from Washington, Republican Duncan says the spending puts the country on a dangerous trajectory.
