Downtown Seneca buildings change hands

The Seneca mayor says he’s aware that, in the last several months, at least five downtown buildings have changed hands. And Dan Alexander says it bodes well for his city to fill up empty storefronts. In an interview, the mayor says he’s aware of a furniture store and other retails stores that are coming to the downtown. He declined to be specific, but a realtor has told 101.7/WGOG NEWS the building transactions are centered at the intersection of E. Main and N. Walnut streets. Alexander says the latest developments have enthused the Downtown Merchants Association which, in a meeting Tuesday, expressed its excitement about things to come. New retail is not all that Seneca downtown can expect. The mayor continues to talk up the idea of downtown second floor condominiums, and says he continues to pursue turning part of his Ramcat Alley building in upstairs condos.
