Downtown developer pitch to re-start grant program

A new investor in Seneca’s downtown wants city government to bring back a grant program that helped other developers with start-up businesses.  The appeal was made by Ron Freeman, who has bought a lot on Railroad Street and has acquired existing building space on Ramcat Alley and N. Townville Street.  Freeman announced last night that, at 124 Ramcat Alley, he and his wife plan to open a wine bar.  The council received those comments as information.  Before last night’s council meeting, Freeman chatted with a couple of councilmen about his hopes, including Councilman Stuart Pohl who operates a bar-restaurant adjoining 124 Ramcat.  Freeman also wants to find a new use for 103 N. Townville and has some ideas for a lot that sits between Ramcat and Railroad Street.
