DORIS GODWIN

Westminster- Doris E. Cobb Bryant Godwin, 82, wife of the late Reverend Charles Cordell Godwin, Sr; passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Cottingham Hospice House.

 

Born in Taylors, South Carolina, Doris was the daughter of the late Glenn H. and Annie Vera Busha Cobb, Sr. Doris retired from Beacon Manufacturing and she was a member of North Walhalla Church of God.

 

Doris is survived by her niece, Melissa “Lisa” C. Moore (Daniel); brother, Glenn H. Cobb, Jr. (Brenda); great nephews, Jason D. Moore, and Wesley J. Moore; step-son, Charles Godwin (Denise); step-daughters, Charlene Grogan (Jeff), Diane Snow; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her parents and second husband, Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank L. Bryant.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Sandifer Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Calvary Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Sandifer Funeral Home.
