Donnie Franklin Crowe

Central – Donnie Franklin Crowe, known to his friends as just “Donnie”, passed away at Greenville Memorial Hospital on June 9th, 2023. He was born in Oconee County on January 30th, 1954, the son of James Vernon and Iris Ellenburg Crowe. He lived to the age of 69 years.

Donnie was a man who truly never met a stranger – with his outgoing and friendly personality, he could strike up a conversation with anyone. In his younger years, he enjoyed working and owned his own tree service business. He found joy in being out in nature and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

When Donnie wasn’t out working, he loved to rest and relax – whether by taking long naps or hitting the road for a leisurely drive. He had a restless energy about him that made him hard to sit still for too long.

Friends and family will remember Donnie’s easy-going demeanor and kind spirit. His passing will be felt deeply by many, including his beloved wife, Janie Crowe; two sons, Jason Crowe, and Eric Donald; daughter Sasha Satterwhite; brother Elvis Crowe; sisters Lavada Meyer, Bonnie Lou Crowe, and Bennie Ruth Turner; four grandchildren, Brandi, TJ, Corey, and Riley; one great-granddaughter Olivia.

Though he is gone now, we take comfort in knowing that Donnie’s memory will live on through all those who had the privilege of knowing him during his lifetime.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents as well as four brothers, James Ivan Crowe, Roger Dale Crowe, Jay Harold Crowe, and Dempsey Crowe; and five sisters, Betty Jean Taylor, Barbara Gillespie, Evelyn Seigle, Brenice Crowe, and Norma Martin.

Services honoring Donnie’s life will take place at Duckett – Robinson Funeral Home at 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC. Visitation will begin at 1 PM on June 14th, with Donnie’s funeral service to follow at 2 PM. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca, SC.

May we all find comfort in the cherished memories of Donnie Franklin Crowe.
